UPDATE Nov 7: Both iPhone and Android mobile apps are now live. Sales leads will be added to Android by November 14 (already available on iPhone). Both apps will also be updated at the same time to allow for "keep me logged in" and "remember my details".
As soon as Apple and Google give us the attention we deserve and approve our
new apps, v2.0 of the WORK[etc] mobile experience will be pounding down the
radio waves to your Android or iOS device.
Here is what we've done in the new versions:
★ brand new interface
★ local caching for massive speed improvement
★ 100% native interface for zippy user-experience
★ expanded activity stream
★ addition of Sales Lead module (Sales leads for Android will be ~ 1 week after release)
★ optimized for larger screens iOS6 and iPhone 5
The update is so profound that calling it a new version isn't really fair. With more than 90% of the code being rewritten it pretty much is an entirely new product.
Going forward, mobile and tablets are going to become a bigger focus for WORK[etc]. Over the next few months we'll be adding an expenses module into both apps as well as our usual commitment to continuous improvement.
Daniel Barnett [2012-11-07]As soon as both apps are released in their respective marketplaces, we'll be
pushing out an email alert.
We would love a Google Plus One below... helps keep
the team
innovating...!
Hi,
Are these updates going to be reflected in the mobile website? I am a Blackberry user.
Thanks
Just updated the android version - wow!!! You guys did a fantastic job, keep up the good work...
Fantastic work on the mobile app guys...however it highlights more than ever the disconnect between google and worketc due to a lack of contact syncing between both systems. Why should I have to open an app on my phone to get information on a contact....and even worse now when a business contact calls me I have no link to open in the app. Other crms having been doing this for a long time and worketc needs to seriously catch up. Given the focus on Mobile now worketc should be putting a hot link on all synced contacts within a specified shared contact group so that after receiving a call you can open the contact from your phone click on the link in their contact details and be brought straight to their information in worketc. Its been talked about for over a year and been promised many times and still no sign.
@Marcus -unfortunately not.
@Jeff - thanks, really appreciated
@Dave - will enter beta shortly, exceedingly complicated to do this right as we need to be able to allow users to roll-back syncs (no one else does this well yet) as well as simultaneously sync from multiple sources (ie Salesforce, Google, Outlook) as each organization utilises multiples app and then also write some clever logic that deals with multiple people sycning up multiple contacts from multiple sources that contain different fields that conflict
I checked the app for iPhone - very, very good now, compared to what is was before and even more important, sales leads included, almost faster than to use the desktop version in a sense.
Just checked the GooglePlay Store, the App for Android does not include the SalesLead section yet, as promised by Nov. 14th 2012, impatiently waiting for it. For the GoogleSync Contacts, as long as contacts, that are in Worketc have a group flag added (like eg. WORKetc) in case clients/partners are called, you can see their narme in the Android Phone under 'missed calls'. Now at least contacts from worketc can be used. Data should be in one place only. The old app versions chrashed on all my test devices. This new version, besides missing SalesLead section, is incredible good and finally brings Worketc to the road, for mobile warriors. Waiting for the new iPad mini 3G as well, after that no bag or luggage needed, all in the Jacket on the road, to do all business activities - Great Outlook - Thanks !!!
I used to be a heavy blackberry user as well, for the keyboard for hardcore typing activities, but now using the in June 2012 expired (no more downloads) google sync app for Blackberry. But with Worketc to be used on iPad Mini and Android, working incredible fast with the 'TouchPal' app allowing fast typing as well (except when driving a car, which is still an advantage of Blackberry physical keyboard in combination with autotext) i will go away from Blackberry. My Android testingdevices with Keyboard like HTC ChaCha do not work, since Portrait Mode only for this new Worketc AndroidApp is need, even with an app that switches to Landscape it will not work. Waiting for the new Motorola Defy coming to the German markets, Portrait mode and maybe better keyboard than my testing device Motorola Pro+ that has an unusable keyboard for quick typing, compare to Blackberry. Anyhow very glad this new apps will allow mobile working, just need the right hardware device for it.
What's up with the calender in the new mobile app? I'm running iPhone 5 but its the same on 4s... The days of the week are out of sync with the days of the month. Perhaps the calender layout is set up for s,m,t,w,th,f,s but it is displaying m,t,w,th,f,s,s. the result is that my appointments are all there but not for the correct day.
