The world has gone Social CRM. We know you can’t ignore it anymore. You know you can’t ignore it anymore. We know, you know, you can’t ignore it anymore.
So what exactly are we all not ignoring anymore?
Social CRM.
Social networks, social media, social enterprise, social business, social-the-freakn-world.
So why now? Why not a year ago? Why not 5 years ago?
Well, 5 years ago you would have been risked spending a whole lot of effort and the only people listening are college kids on Facebook. Awesome if you’re Abercrombie & Fitch or own a spring break resort in Cancun. And then even a year ago actual results could not be guaranteed. In an audience of early-adopters, self-proclaimed gurus, B-grade celebrities and the entire Gen-Y population of planet earth you’d have a pretty hard time generating any sort of return on investment if your business sells replacement parts for Caterpillar trucks. Or financial planning advice for baby boomers. Or environmental studies for urban planning.
But now? Today?
Today that has all changed. In only a year the tide has turned and unknowingly we’ve all been sucked into social-everything Tsunami.
Still skeptical?
Forrester’s newest and much respected B2B Social Technographics has punched the numbers to reveal that fully 100% of decisions makers use social media for work purposes. 100%. That’s everyone. That’s me. That’s you, that’s the big lead you’re trying to close right now.
So what are all these B2B decision makers actually doing on Social media?
- 98% are spectators, meaning they read forums, subscribe to blogs and pretty much lurk in the shadows.
- 79% are joiners. These are the people with a juicy profiles on a social network.
- 75% are the critics. Thank these people for the 5-star reviews they’re posting about your business.
The numbers’ don’t lie, particularly when they come from a long respected research organization like Forrester. So what you are you going to do about? Where do you start? And most importantly –
How can WORK[etc] help you get up to speed and stay up to date?
Well starting today we have 50 spots available for the beta launch of our Social Network integration.
What this tool does is take any of your contacts and runs off to each of the major social media networks and finds a match for their profile. It then updates in WORK[etc] some details such as your contact’s picture, location, current company and current position. And lastly we save that profile location so that you can click and see what that person has been up to any time.
How does this translate to your business? To everyday workflow?
Scenario 1: Let’s say you have an existing contact with missing or outdated information. You would then do a search and match that contacts social profile. On the screen after you have selected the correct match, you then have the option of updating WORK[etc] with that new or additional detail.
Scenario 2: A support case or web form that is lodged from your web site with just a name and an email address. Great that someone is reaching out to you with a question, but seriously who the hell are they you inevitably ask yourself. So simply all you need to do is a quick 2 minute match search on that person and pull in their company, industry, location, position, picture and other information they have made public.
Scenario 3: You know that huge sales lead that you’ve been working on? The one that wanted to call you to call them back in 6 months? Well, once WORK[etc] reminds you to call that lead, quickly click on their Linkedin and Twitter badges to get all the latest gossip on that person. “Hi Bob – great news on coming second in that industry prize…awesome! Now, how about we meet up so I can show you how our product is going to get you the number one spot next year” Seriously, who could say no to that offer?
Interested? Want to try out the Social CRM beta?
We did have 70 spots available to jump on the Social CRM beta but last night turned on the 9 accounts who had helped shape our development. So really that leaves 61 spots ready to be snapped up.
To get in the beta, simply follow these 2 steps:
- Post either a Tweet, a Linkedin share, Google-plus or Facebook Like…
- And finally leave a quick comment below and I’ll be sending you the activation form.
